Kenneth G. Block is the managing principal of Block Real Estate Services (BRES). A specialist in investments and development of industrial, office, and business park properties, Ken brings vast knowledge and experience to his role at BRES. To date, he has been involved in more than $2.5 billion of property acquisitions and dispositions. He has been involved in development of over 220 buildings with a total value exceeding $1.3 billion.

Over the years, Ken has served as secretary, vice chairman, and chairman of the Commercial Investment Branch of the Real Estate Board; director of the Metropolitan Kansas City Real Estate Board; director of the Missouri Association of Realtors; president of the Kansas City Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP); regional vice president of NAIOP; secretary/treasurer of the Western Missouri-Kansas Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) Chapter. Ken was selected as one of the Midwest Real Estate’s Broker All-Stars and as one of the Top 31 Brokers in America by Commercial Property News. He received the 2010 Commercial National Award from the National Association of Realtors and the Allen J. Block Realtor of the Year from the KCRAR, Top Sales Producer Rainmaker by Ingram’s Magazine, and in 2011 received the Jim Davis award from the KC Business Journal.

Ken graduated with honors from the Michigan State University Honors College. Ken currently is an active industrial member of SIOR and is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) as well.

Harry Drake oversees the Property Management division, which is made up of 20 managers and support staff responsible for over 20 million square feet of managed space. In addition, he leads the acquisition and due diligence team responsible for every aspect of new property acquisitions. A veteran of the commercial real estate industry whose experience dates back to 1980, Harry leverages his vast experience in property management and acquisitions in his role with BRES.

Prior to joining BRES, Harry was executive vice president of MC Real Estate Services, where he was responsible for corporate strategic planning, new business development and property audits. Harry also worked as the director of property management with Jones & Company and was responsible for the overall management of Corporate Woods, a 1.7 million square foot office park in Overland Park, Kansas. He also was affiliated with Trizec Properties in commercial development/management in Detroit, Michigan; Kansas City, Missouri; and Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Harry is a licensed real estate broker in both Missouri and Kansas. He is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) as well as a Certified Property Manager (CPM). He is a graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Business, School of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutions Management, and attended the Rockhurst University, Executive Fellows MBA program.

Aaron Mesmer joined BRES in 2005 as an investment sales specialist focused on achieving maximum returns for his clients through the acquisition or disposition of real estate assets.

Since joining BRES, Aaron has been involved in over 100 investment real estate transactions valued at more than $500 million. He is proud to have served local, regional and institutional clients, including BRES, Bremcon Development, Colony Realty Partners, Fowler Properties, Kansas City Public Schools, Lehman Bros., Lennar, LNR Partners, Missouri Housing Partners, PNC, Sterling Equities, Lockton Insurance, Midland Loan Services, The Mutual Fund Store, Providence Management, and the Salvation Army. Aaron’s transaction experience includes the sale of industrial, multi-family, office and retail properties.

Prior to joining BRES, Aaron worked for NAI Cohen-Esrey Real Estate Services, Inc., as a member of the Investment & Corporate Solutions Group where he specialized in investment sales.

Aaron has earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation and is a member of the Kansas City chapter of CCIM. A licensed real estate salesman in both Kansas and Missouri, Aaron graduated first in his class and with highest distinction from the University of Kansas, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

 

Brian BeggsBRIAN R. BEGGS, CFA

As director of acquisitions, Brian Beggs’ duties include the review and analysis of potential acquisitions and dispositions, due diligence, transaction valuation and execution, and detailed financial modeling.

Brian, who earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2004, has been involved in property acquisitions that total over 4 million square feet with a total value of over $700 million, as well as various portfolio and 1031 trade acquisitions. Prior to joining BRES in 2003, Brian worked for a Registered Investment Advisor that handled investments for high net worth individuals and small institutions.

A University of Kansas graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting, Brian is a member of both the CFA Institute and the Kansas City Society of Financial Analysts. He holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation and is a member of the national and local Kansas City chapter of CCIM.


Grant RevesGRANT O. REVES

Grant Reves focuses on acquisitions and dispositions for BRES. His responsibilities include the review and analysis of potential acquisitions and dispositions, due diligence, transaction valuation and execution, and detailed financial modeling. He joined the BRES team in February 2007 specializing in investment real estate.

Since 2002, Grant has been involved in transactions totaling more than $650 million. Grant has completed transactions on behalf of many institutional clients, including Colony Realty Partners, Glenborough Realty Trust Inc., TA Associates Realty, and P.O’B. Montgomery & Company, as well as a host of private equity groups/families throughout the Midwest.

Prior to joining Block Real Estate Services, LLC, Grant worked for a competing firm in the Kansas City market where he specialized in Investment Sales.

Grant holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Kansas State University. He has earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation and is a member of the national and local Kansas City chapter of CCIM.
