  Position:Human Resources Manager
Location:Kansas City, MO

Reports To:CFO

Position Overview

The primary focus will be on benefits administration, employee morale and retention. This position will work closely with the Executive Committee to maintain and enhance our human resources by planning, implementing and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices. This position is also responsible for benefits administration including, but not limited to, 401k and health insurance programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attract, motivate and retain the most qualified talent
  • Develop and administer human resource plans and procedures related to company personnel
  • Develop HR department budget, goals and objectives
  • Implement/revise company’s compensation program
  • Create/revise job descriptions
  • Conduct annual salary surveys
  • Develop, analyze and update the company’s evaluation program
  • Develop/revise and recommend personnel policies and procedures
  • Maintain and revise employee handbook
  • Benefits administration
  • Maintain affirmative action programs
  • Oversee recruitment efforts for all personnel including writing and placing employment ads
  • Prepare offer letters in conjunction with department managers
  • Conduct pre-employment screening (background checks and drug screening)
  • Conduct new employee orientations
  • Conduct employee relations counseling; hear and resolve employee grievances
  • Oversee exit interviews
  • Maintain confidential personnel records
  • Supervise company’s administrative staff
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings
  • Maintain company directory and other organizational charts
  • Recommend new policies, approaches and procedures
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year University
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a senior HR management role.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, expressing ideas clearly and cohesively
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline driven environment
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strict confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
