Lenexa, Kansas – Thursday, September 26, 2013 marked the official start of construction for Block Real Estate Services’ (BRES) newest Industrial Park – Lenexa Logistics Centre (LLC). LLC will be developed as a master planned, Class A logistics park and will include 1.6 million square feet within ten (10) industrial buildings. With new modern buildings, superior location, and the pro-development attitude in the City of Lenexa, LLC will be a destination of choice for prospects that need light warehousing and mid-bulk or bulk distribution space in the Kansas City Metropolitan market.
The commencement started with Mayor of Lenexa, Mike Boehm, stating the economic conditions and welcoming City officials and the development team. “Actually, I think we’re a few days late for a groundbreaking,” Boehm said in reference to earth-moving equipment that has been preparing the site for its first structures. Boehm then introduced Kenneth G. Block, Managing Principal of BRES and a partner in the investment group developing the 117.5-acre park.
The first building to be constructed (Building 4) will be a 260,000 square foot speculative building and will include state-of-the-art features such as 32-foot-clear heights and cross-dock loading. Building 4 will be completed by June 2014.
