Block Cares Relief Fund Donates $16,000 to Overland Park Fire Department
Kenneth G. Block, Managing Principal of Block Real Estate Services, LLC, presented a $16,000 check to the Overland Park Fire Department from the Block Cares Fire Relief Fund on December 13th, 2017. The donation is intended to help cover the costs of repairing damage done to equipment while battling the 8-alarm fire at The Royale at CityPlace in March, 2017. The Block Cares Fire Relief Fund raised more than $100,000, most of which went to the families affected by the fires to cover expenses not covered by their insurance.
Two of The Royale at CityPlace apartment buildings were destroyed and a total of 25 homes and structures were damaged. “We believe the fact that there was no loss of life is directly attributed to the heroic efforts of first responders and those who worked around the clock to bring the fires under control,” said Kenneth G. Block. “We owe them a debt of gratitude and hope that the funds raised through the Block Cares Fire Relief Fund will help all of those affected to recoup some of their losses.”
